The VAT act is finally approved by the parliament and the Guardian Council - 22 May 2008

Kadkhodayee Reported: Rejection of Value Added Tax Bill


Abasali Kadkhodayee, the spokesman of the Guardian Council, said in an interview with our reporter that the Guardian council has reviewed and rejected the VAT bill as the last ratified statue of the seventh Parliament in year 1386 (2007-2008), in recent meeting.”
He also added that the Guardian council considered fourteen articles of the bill as inconsistent with religion and Constitution.
The bill has been under consideration from the beginning of the seventh Parliament at Economic Commission and has been finally ratified in year 1385 (Last year) after being investigated and approved by the above-mentioned commission under article 85.
